The Premise
An evening on the Colton Ranch at the dead end of Colton Creek Road. The crew has gone home, the herd is a low murmur out in the dark, and Wade is in the round pen with a half-wild colt, doing the one thing he is almost beautiful at: not breaking it, gentling it - hours of patience, never a rope drawn hard, waiting the animal toward his open hand. You came down to watch. By the end of the blue hour it is not only the colt he is patient with.
